About Me

I have been practicing yoga for 29 years when I took a class for pregnant Moms. I taught children’s yoga in a local studio in Monteverde, Costa Rica, where I lived for 11 years. I joined “The Great Resignation” in 2022 and left higher education to share the gifts of yoga and EOL journeying with others. I successfully completed the University of Vermont’s End of Life Guidance Course in October 2022.

Background and Journey

Less than a week after completing my graduate degree, I joined a group of growers and consumers and ultimately created a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm outside of Washington, D. C. After six years of full time farming, my small family and I moved to the Monteverde Region of Costa Rica for eleven years where I served as the Country Director of a non-governmental organization focused on small-scale community development projects.

Upon my return to the U.S., I served as an administrative and adjunct faculty member in higher education over twelve years in two universities. I left higher education in 2022 to pursue a new and deeper way to connect with people and facilitate positive, meaningful, and transformative impacts in their life and death journeys.

Present Focus

I guide clients of all ages and backgrounds in End of Life (EOL) matters and yoga. I pursued my EOL studies at the University of Vermont, and successfully completed their program in October, 2022.

My Jack Russell Terrier Mix, Yaku, and I are an Alliance for Therapy Dogs Certified Pet Therapy Team. I am a Hospice and Red Cross volunteer, certified in First Aid and CPR, and am fluent in Spanish.

I offer specially curated private yoga classes to individuals and groups at mutually agreed upon times and locations. I have enjoyed exploring all types of yoga since my first class for pregnant Moms. I hold certifications in Children’s Yoga, Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) Yoga, and am an RYT 200 with Yoga Alliance. I taught Children’s Yoga in Monteverde, Costa Rica, and offer Yoga in Reno, SUP Yoga at Lake Davis, CA (seasonally), and various yoga retreats in local and international venues.

My previous life and work experience have prepared me for the vocation of helping others live and die with intention, dignity, and less fear. I look forward to working for you.
